Starting in October 2009, IP2 began to enter into negotiations with a number of MNO's on five continents. This would allow the utilization of multiple international IMSI's for integration into the IP2 Global Mobile Platform.
This platform will enable the first truly uniform Global GSM offering with unparalleled call control and unified services.
This will empower smaller mobile operators to offer global international services to the international roaming market which numbers nearly one billion users and represents the most lucrative mobile market segment on earth. We have also worked with a major handset manufacturer to develop the world’s first truly low cost mobile handset smaller than a credit card which will be bundled for developing countries and the consumer travel market. This would be released at CES and IP2 has samples to view at the show.
We have also worked with a major handset manufacturer to develop the world’s first truly low cost mobile handset smaller than a credit card which will be bundled for developing countries and the consumer travel market. This would be released at CES and IP2 has samples to view at the show.
These products will be marketed in the IP2 Roamobi brand ‘Powered by Roamobi’ IP2 will also launch a new type of Global MVNO license called VMSP (Virtual Mobile Service Provider) which will be launched at 3G Barcelona.
IP2 is already in negotiations with prospective VMSE’s who will launch services on the IMSI’s of the chosen IP2 MNO partners. These business partners have made commitments on distribution of tens of thousands of bundled Roamobi handsets (The first truly miniature GSM handset for the traveller). These devices will target the nearly one billion consumers who travel outside their home countries and experience roaming issues. IP2 estimates that they will easily attain to 100,000 users with its first year of operation due to the great interest in the VMSE/VMSP licensing program. From the likes of Airlines, Cruise Operators, Car Hire franchises, Sports Associations, Charities, and Travel Agents etc. This is much more powerful and much more inexpensive, than any MVNO opportunity, and without the need of any mobile technical expertise. Virtually all companies involved in marketing and have existing customer bases, are looking for a way of extending brand reach via new products with a residual revenue growth possibility.
The partner MNO could also consider entering the global roaming consumer sales market as a VMSE or a VMSE and selling MNO branded products around the globe. This is a very lucrative market and represents the cream revenues of the mobile industry.
These products are ‘Powered By Roamobi’ and do the following:
1. Provide Total Call Control for all international Subscribers
2. Tremendous Cost Saving
3. Indoor Coverage via IP
4. Personal IPBX
5. Universal Short Codes
6. Multiple Local numbers displayed in real time
7. Low Cost Bundled Roamobi Handsets where required
8. 100% handset Compatibility.
9. No need for any SIM based application or Multi-IMSI solutions
10. All services managed at Network Level via SS7.
From our perspective the IP2 business proposition provides many Mobile Operators with a very low cost solution for dramatically increasing roaming revenues without the much greater risks and expenses involved in going down the road of building its own Hub. Of course nothing prohibits the MNO from doing that in tandem with what IP2 is proposing.
